The old one has an error, so that's my guess.
NOTE: Just to clarify, this is a for loop, but you didn't specify it as such so I'm assuming you meant to use a while loop.
Hence the second argument I supplied to scanf().
A:
The first one reads two integers from standard input and stores them into the variables count and tmp1.
The second one reads an integer from standard input and stores it into the variable count.
After the first read, the third one reads again from standard input and stores it into tmp1.
These three reads cause an "undefined behaviour" on the third read.
You should just have a single read for count.
int count, tmp1;
scanf("%d", &count);
scanf("%d", &tmp1);
You could also store the result in a static variable, if you want it to be accessible in different functions.

I want to use Python in my Bash terminal. Please can anybody guide me on how to do it?
Also my final objective is to write Python code in my text editor and then run the code in my terminal. Can somebody guide me on that too?

To run python code in terminal you can use
python -i my_script.py
After it is started, you can use Bash to use python in your script, just using
source my_script.py
You can even use PyCharm, which is integrated in Ubuntu with a Ubuntu package. Just install PyCharm and select the option'set as default IDE for Python' (at least at my version (4.5))
Your question is a little unclear, but if you mean that you want to write python code in your text editor, you can use PyCharm, select your code and then run it.
